The Bayesian Cognition Winter School was a unique opportunity to learn the latest advances in the subject all within an international atmosphere and a magnificent natural wealth. The event was organized by the BACS consortium in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France, from January 6th to January 11th 2008. The school hosted 80 participants coming from 18 different countries around the world. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy five days of intensive training specially conceived for Master and PhD students as well as postdocs in cognitive science and robotics. Height senior researchers participated in this event covering subjects such as: probability theory, statistical learning, probabilistic models for nervous systems, approximate evaluation of Bayesian calculus, probabilistic interpretation of physiological and psychophysical data, probabilistic robotics, and industrial applications. In addition, a practical session was organized by Probayes where students had the opportunity to program the more classical Bayesian models using the ProBT toolbox.
