Use ProBT-XL to design and test bayesian models on a standard Excel spread sheet.
See a Flash demo, have a look at the tutorial [1].
Features :
Easy to use and test on real data with Excel.
Fast execution time thanks to a C++ implementation.
Exact and approximate inference.
External C functions
Recursive inference (object oriented Bayes net).
Learning algorithms for standard distributions and mixtures.
The distributed package includes several examples of Bayes Nets. The tutorial is based on these examples, the explanation uses commented screen copy to show the interaction with the system.
Please read the Readme.txt file before starting the installation. An evaluation license is part of the distribution. This license is made for the general public and give rights to use the software for a limited period of time.
AS shown in the next figure ProBT-XL can be used to exports probabilistic models to other applications. Once a model has been created and tested it can be stored in a file and exported to another application written in Java, Python or C++.

ProBT-XL comes as a set of additional macros of Excel in a ProBT-XL.xla file: This set of macros is interfaced to a C++ shell designed to handle the interactions between VBA and the ProBT-Engine. To work properly, a standard installation of Excel 2000, 2003 or 2007 is required on Windows XP and Vista.
[1] .
Warning A : When installing ProBT-XL, Microsoft redistribuable librairies may be installed too.
Warning B: In order for ProBt-XL to run, Macro should be allowed on Excel. (Tool->Macro->security : low)
Warning C: ProBT-XL works fine on Excel 2007 but since the changes of the Excel interface, ProBT-XL menus are under the "Addins" menu. Please consider watching this presentation when using Excel 2007.
